Project Overview

I built Legal Compass with one goal in mind - no one should sign something they don't fully understand. The app instantly analyzes any legal document and highlights potentially risky clauses right within the interface, flagging sections that could be dangerous for you in red. It provides a fairness score (0-100) showing how balanced the agreement is, clearly lists obligations for both parties in simple language, and even suggests modifications to make terms more equitable. What sets it apart is the "What If" scenario feature - users can ask questions like "what if I miss my rent payment by 2 days?" and the AI will scan the document and respond with specifics like "According to clause 5.2, you'll be charged 10% interest per day on the outstanding rent amount, meaning a ₹20,000 rent would incur ₹2,000 daily penalty." This transforms intimidating legal jargon into clear, actionable insights, helping users negotiate better terms or at least know exactly what they're agreeing to before signing.
